A traffic-impact study for a proposed 159,264-square-foot Meijer superstore and fuel station on about 25 acres behind Spitzer Chevrolet in Northfield was conditionally approved in early 2021 and identified extensive roadway work. As of March 7, 2025, the project was in limbo because Meijer had not bought the land and SR 82 traffic requirements were a major obstacle.
